Mood Scarf-along

After my Mood Scarf blog a few weeks ago- some of you were keen to join me in a mood scarf-along! I was already excited about this project- but now I’m even more excited at the thought of people joining in and us all sharing the progress of our scarves! So I’ve decided on a start date and this is your 2 week warning.

The scarf-along will begin on the first day of British summer time: Sunday 30th March.

I will tell you what I’m doing as a starting point- but you can do whatever you like! Just decide on your colours, yarns and mood scarf rules before the start date and away we go!

Details of the yarns I’m using and what moods they represent are in my original mood scarf blog. They’re all DK weights and I’m planning to work in garter st on 3.5mm needles. I haven’t decided how many stitches yet- but I might go quite wide! To make it a little more interesting, I’m going to inc/ dec on each alt row to make it asymmetric.

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: K1, M1, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.

My friend Steph is thinking about doing hers in varying shades of the same colour. Rebecka is planning to crochet hers and might vary the widths of the stripes as well, depending on moods. I’m so excited!! Please let me know in the comments if you’re joining in and what your mood scarf rules will be. Can’t wait to get started!

  1. I love this idea – I have a few projects I need to finish first, but then I’m on board! Thinking of treating myself to some new wool too! x

  3. I’m in — how many rows do we knit per day? Have got one colour chosen — a mango-ey colour from amy butler’s rowan yarns as my happy/good colour.
