One of our Knit in Notts crew recently had a baby, and we decided to get together to make a blanket.
As per usual with baby gifts – we didn’t have it finished in time for the birth! But Erica is pretty tiny still and we made the blanket large enough for a cot or to put on the end of a single bed, so hopefully it will last her a while.
We knew that it was going to be a girl so we opted for dusky pinks, a brighter pink and grey. Teal is sort of our group colour, so Steph crocheted a teal/duck-egg coloured border to bring it all together.
Nine of us knitted/crocheted strips one metre long and approx 10cm wide. The original plan of everyone using dk went a bit astray – but it all came together!
I really enjoyed this project – it was nice to do something as a group. We put a tag on each strip to say who it was knitted/crocheted by and there were almost tears when we handed it over (I think happy ones!).
