What a fabulously exciting week it’s been for the knitters of Nottingham!
Eleanor has moved Knit Nottingham from her teeny tiny shop on Mansfield Road to a bigger, shinier and more central location.
One of my favourite things to do is merchanising and display, so I was very happy to help out with the new Knit Nottingham. There is nothing nicer than rows of empty shelves and lovely new packs of yarn to fill them with! It does become more complicated when a lot of the yarn is in bin bags moved from an existing shop – but that’s all part of the fun! I like the challenge of planning out a space to make it shopable -ie, all the same weights in the same area so you can find things, but also making it look gorgeous and inspiring!
On Easter Monday, a few of us spent the day stocking the shelves and helping Eleanor do the fun bits of making the shop look pretty!
On Thursday there was a VIP night before the official first day open on Friday. We had a great time, the shop is looking amazing and we’re all so proud of Eleanor! I even felt moved to stand on a chair and do a little speech (after a few glasses of fizz!).
And I couldn’t resist treating myself to this beautiful sock yarn by Truly Hooked. It’s too lovely to knit with so I’m just going to look at it!
