What a wonderful week it’s been! Full of knitting, crochet, cream teas and roses.
On Monday I attended a fabulous Rowan event at The Gardens of the Rose, with an inspirational talk by Kaffe Fassett and fashion show featuring some of his amazing designs for Rowan. Followed by a fashion show featuring lovely garments from the brand new Rowan Mag 60.
Kaffe planted a Rowan tree in the gardens to mark the occasion and we also had them available buy – I wish I had space in my little garden for a Rowan tree! I was very pleased to happen across a ‘Kaffe Fasset’ rose whilst wandering around the gardens – it’s the most beautiful shade of purply pink and smelt amazing. I’m pretty sure I could find space for one of those.
If you read my blog regularly, you probably know that I love gardening! So craft week at The Gardens of the Rose was pretty much heaven for me. On Tuesday I assisted the lovely Emma Osmond on her Learn to Crochet class, whilst Dee Hardwicke taught a workshop based on her new book A Story in Yarn. And on Wednesday I helped a lovely group of ladies Learn to Love Making up, whilst knitting some little flock birds from my book The Knitted Nursery Collection. We also had the talented Jane Crowfoot teaching crochet flowers and of course this was all interspersed with cream teas and pootling around the gardens in the sunshine!
The Gardens of the Rose really is the loveliest venue – so make sure you keep an eye on their website for future events and hopefully I’ll be teaching there again later this year.
