I’m doing a few workshops throughout February and March… I’d love to see you there!
I will be teaching my Professional Finishing Techniques Workshop at both Ippikin and Black Sheep Wools in February. We will cover lots of techniques you can use to give your garment a professional finish – all whilst knitting a little cardigan for Smidge the Cat!
Anyone coming along to my Professional Finishing workshop will receive a free copy of the Smidge the Cat pattern.
I will also be teaching my new Cosy Alpaca Knits Colour Workshop at Ewe Wool Shop in March. If you fancy knitting one of the colourwork projects from Cosy Alpaca Knits but need some help with your fair-isle and/or intarsia knitting, then this is the perfect workshop for you.
You will get a taster of both fair-isle and intarsia with lots of handy tips throughout the day. We will be making a mini cushion, which can be used as a lavender pillow or filled with seeds or oats to use as a microwaveable hottie cushion to keep your hands warm!
Hop over to my events page for more details or to book your place.
Wave hello to Ted Bear!
Ted is my workshop mascot and he is now available as a free downloadable pattern here. You can knit him a smart little cardigan on my Professional Finishing Techniques workshop or a jumper with a pocket on Professional Finishing Techniques- Part Two.
I’m really enjoying being a Rowan workshop tutor! My workshops have got off to a good start at Black Sheep, A Good Yarn and Threads of Life. I’ve met lot’s of lovely knitters keen to learn new tips and techniques, and lots of mini- cardigans and jumpers have been made!
I was particularly happy when Emma from Black Sheep sent me a picture of a pocket she had knitted into a garment after attending Professional Finishing- Part Two. It’s so neat!
More dates are being added to my workshop page regularly, so keep an eye out for one near you if you want to build up Ted’s wardrobe!
Hopefully see you at a workshop soon x
My shiny new workshop page is now up and running!
Check it out here for details of subjects and dates. There will be more dates coming soon, so if there isn’t anything local to you at the moment, keep your eye out!
My official workshop program begins in October, but the lovely ladies at Black Sheep were kind enough to attend a ‘Guinea pig’ workshop this week. I had a great day teaching three lovely ladies from the knit group, and Amy from Black Sheep, professional finishing techniques.
We started to make a mini-garment on the day, which covered many of the essential techniques needed to give your garments a professional finish. Sally in particular, was keen to get home and finish her little cardie and by the time I got back from Culcheth she had already tweeted me a picture of the finished thing!
My little Guini pig workshop has really made me look forward to getting started in October. Hopefully I will see you at a workshop soon x
